Laboratory tests and results are shown in MyKanta on a separate Laboratory tests page. Here’s how to find them:
Log in to MyKanta at kanta.fi. You can identify yourself using online banking codes, for instance.
Once you are logged in to MyKanta, select the ‘Terveystiedot’ (Health information) section in the menu and then in the list that opens, select
- ‘Laboratoriotutkimukset’ (Laboratory tests) to view your test results
- ‘Kuvantamistutkimukset’ (Medical imaging) to view X-ray, MRI or other imaging examination results.
By default, MyKanta shows test results for the past year. If you want to search for tests and results older than one year change the dates in the ‘Käynnit ajalta‘ (Visits by time) search field.
There are two ways in which health care services record test results. Some results may be listed on the page by the name of the test and some by the date of the visit. This means that your results may appear in one or two different tables, so please read all the way to the bottom of the page. Please note that there may be results on multiple pages.
Frequently asked questions about test results
The time taken for results to appear may vary depending on the test. Your results will be visible in MyKanta once they have been recorded in Kanta Services by the health care service provider.
In most cases, test results are available in MyKanta within a few days. Sometimes it may take longer for the results to appear. Health care services are often able to tell patients when their results will be visible in MyKanta already during their visit.
There may be a delay in completing the test results or in the recording and storing of data in Kanta. For example, sometimes the doctor may wish to discuss the results with you before making them available for you to view in MyKanta.
If you cannot find your results by test date, please check whether you can find new results under another date. The test results may have been saved under the visit when the doctor wrote the referral for tests.
The information has been made easier to find by showing the date(s) of information edited during the past month in red.
If your results do not appear, contact the unit where your tests were carried out, such as your local health clinic.
