The first users will be trying out Testain in spring 2025, after which the service will be implemented for wider use in phases. Along with Testain, the Kumppanit workspace will continue to be used for Kanta joint testing.
At the beginning of joint testing, Kela will inform you whether the joint testing in question is to be conducted using Testain or the Kumppanit workspace. For more information, please visit Registering for joint testing. If in doubt, please contact yhteistestaus@kanta.fi.
System providers involved in joint testing will perform tests in their own test environment against the Kanta client test environment.
LOG IN TO TESTAIN
- Ease of use. It is easy for system providers to track several ongoing joint tests as well as communications associated with their progress. It is easier to conceptualise and retrieve content.
- Speed. In the future, some tests may be checked automatically, allowing system providers to track results and make necessary corrections themselves. The process will speed up and peak testing hours will even out.
- Transparency. Automation will allow system providers to receive direct feedback on some of the tests. The service will also facilitate dialogue during joint testing.
Key Testain functionalities
In Testain, the system provider can
- perform preliminary tests either partly or entirely independently
- register for joint testing
- report completed tests and receive feedback on them
- discuss a specific test with a joint-testing expert
- track the status of joint testing
- receive notifications about possible disruption.
Users have the option to customise the service to suit their preferences by selecting their preferred content to be displayed on the front page and by subscribing to email notifications. The working language of Kanta joint testing is Finnish, so all test material and guidelines are only available in Finnish. It is only possible to log in to Testain using suomi.fi e-Authorizations.
Testain user authorisations
Each system provider will determine the authorisations and associated roles it assigns to its employees, and provide suomi.fi e-Authorizations in the Digital and Population Data Services Agency (DVV) service. All transactions related to the assignment of authorisations should be handled with DVV. The authorisations for using Testain are specific to system providers.
Since the person granting the authorisation must have the right to sign for the company, it is advisable to start arranging the authorisations early on. The authorisation will take effect immediately upon issue. By default, the authorisations granted are valid for five years, unless they are specifically determined to be valid for a shorter period of time.
There are two types of authorisation for using Testain
Administration of joint testing of information systems
- This authorisation allows the authorised person to process the documents used in joint testing on behalf of the authoriser, and to view details of the progress of the joint testing.
Reporting on joint testing of information systems
- This authorisation allows the authorised person to report the results of joint testing, perform inspection automations and view information on the progress of the joint testing on behalf of the authoriser.
The authorized person is intended to be granted only one of the above-mentioned access rights.
Authorisation qualifiers
It is possible to record a qualifier for a suomi.fi e-Authorization. Qualifiers determine which Kanta joint tests can be accessed by the authorised person. If no qualifier is recorded for the authorisation, the user will be able to see all joint-testing cases for the Kanta Services in Testain for that specific system provider. Possible qualifiers include:
- Patient Data Repository
- Prescription
- Client Data Repository for Social Welfare Services
- Imaging Data Repository
- Interfaces for wellbeing applications
What can you do with different authorisations?
The roles of Administration of joint testing of information systems and Reporting on joint testing of information systems both allow the user to:
- register for joint testing and submit a system form (such as an architecture description)
- view the status of joint testing
- view discussions and respond to messages opened by Kela
- view possible notices (about disruption and interruptions)
- customise received triggers and the joint testing cases to be tracked.
The role of Reporting on joint testing of information systems also allows the user to:
- use test automation to review test cases (‘Review’)
- send a test case to a joint-testing expert for review (“Submit for review”).
What should I do if there are changes to an authorisation?
If additional authorisations are required at a later date, such as with regard to another Kanta Service, the previous authorisation must be revoked and a new authorisation granted with all the necessary authorisation qualifiers.
