Social welfare services data in MyKanta

In the future, you will be able to view your social welfare services data as well as your health and wellbeing data in MyKanta. The data will become available in MyKanta gradually during 2023–2026.

The client or a person acting on behalf of the client will be able to use MyKanta to view

  • personal social welfare service documents, such as decisions, service needs assessments, and client plans
  • information about the start of a client relationship
  • the case worker’s contact information.

How to find your social welfare services data in MyKanta:

Log in to MyKanta at kanta.fi. You can identify yourself using online banking codes, for instance.

Select the ‘Sosiaalipalvelujen tiedot’ (Social services client data) section in the menu.

The ‘Sosiaalipalvelujen tiedot’ (Social services client data) section will be visible to everyone, even if they do not have a client relationship with social welfare services. In this case, MyKanta will show that no data are available in the section.

Social services data will be gradually available in MyKanta

At the moment, MyKanta only shows client data recorded in the social services of the wellbeing services counties North Ostrobothnia, South Karelia and Päijät-Häme. The data will become available in phases.
 
In other wellbeing services counties, the data will start being available at a later date.

Frequently asked questions about social welfare services data

Social welfare services data will be made available in MyKanta in stages. It will become possible to view social welfare services data in MyKanta once the social welfare service provider has joined Kanta and made the necessary changes to their data systems.

Social services client data will be added to MyKanta in stages from 2023–2026, so not all data will be visible immediately.

In the future, MyKanta will show information from all social welfare services:

  • services for families with children
  • services for the elderly
  • services for people of working age
  • child welfare services
  • services for people with disabilities
  • substance abuse and addiction services
  • family law services.

MyKanta does not display all of the client data stored in Kanta. For example, payment commitments granted in social welfare services and information about domestic violence do not appear in MyKanta at all. 

In addition, a social welfare services professional may limit the information that is displayed in MyKanta for legitimate reasons. You can discuss restricting data with the professional handling your case. 

Client records for social welfare services are not yet available in MyKanta. Client records from some wellbeing services counties were incorrectly displayed in MyKanta at the beginning of 2024, but the error has now been rectified.

If you notice an error or omission in your information, please contact the social welfare unit you attended. Social welfare services are responsible for recording and correcting data. For this reason, incorrect information shown in MyKanta cannot be updated or corrected by Kanta Services.
