The Client Data Act allows the display of social welfare client data in MyKanta. Clients will gradually be able to view in MyKanta the data stored by social welfare professionals in the Kanta Services' Client Data Repository for Social Welfare Services.
Social welfare services client data will be added to MyKanta in stages starting in late 2023. The amount of data visible in MyKanta will increase as
- social welfare service providers implement the necessary changes to their information systems
- documents generated in various social services begin to be stored in Kanta within the set transition periods.
At the moment, MyKanta only shows the social welfare client data of the following wellbeing services counties:
- Kymenlaakso
- North Ostrobothnia
- Ostrobothnia
- Päijät-Häme
- Satakunta
- South Karelia
- South Ostrobothnia.
In other wellbeing services counties, the data will start being available at a later date.
What type of social welfare service data the client can view in MyKanta?
The client or a person acting on behalf of the client will be able to use MyKanta to view
- personal social welfare service documents, such as decisions, service needs assessments, and client plans
- information about the start of a client relationship
- your case worker’s contact information.
In the future, clients will also be able to see client record entries.
The data can be found in the Social welfare services client data section of MyKanta.
Social welfare services client data will be visible to clients even if they do not have a client relationship with social welfare services. In this case, MyKanta will show that no data is available in the section.
Some data will not be made available in MyKanta
MyKanta will not display
- documents related to shelter services and work to prevent domestic violence
- vouchers
- documents that have been deleted or voided
- previous versions of amended documents
- document created before joining Kanta and during stage 1 of the introduction.
In addition, documents related to adoption counselling and parenthood investigations are not generally shown in MyKanta. However, these documents can be displayed in MyKanta at a later date if a professional considers it necessary.
Incorrect information will be corrected by social welfare services
Any errors or omissions in the client data displayed in MyKanta are corrected by the social services unit where the data was recorded. In this situation, clients are advised to contact the organisation's data protection officer, for example. Please read the instructions on correcting incorrect information.
