Interruptions in the services in March 2025
Planned update and maintenance tasks that may result in interruptions to the use of the services during the month are published here. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
3 March: Short interruptions in the Kanta Services possible
Time: 3 March 2025 between 8.30pm and 00.30am
Kanta-service is undergoing technical maintenance work, due to which there may be interruptions in the use of the services.
Please try to access the service again in a while.
5 March: Short interruption in the use of Kanta Services possible
Time: 5 March 2025 between 6pm and 12 midnight
The Kanta Services is carrying out technical maintenance work, due to which there may be short interruptions in the use of the services:
- Patient Data Repository
- Patient Data Management Service
- System for issuing declarations of intent
- Imaging Data Repository
- Delivery of Medical Certificates
- Delivery of e-prescriptions between different EU countries
- MyKanta

5 March: Short interruptions in the Kanta Services possible
Time: 5 March 2025 between 8.30pm and 01.00am
Kanta-service is undergoing technical maintenance work, due to which there may be interruptions in the use of the services.

17 March: Short interruptions in the Kanta Services possible
Time: 17 March 2025 between 6pm and midnight
Kanta-service is undergoing technical maintenance work, due to which there may be interruptions in the use of the services.

18 March: Short interruption in the use of Kanta Services possible
Time: 18 March 2025 at 7am
Due to maintenance work carried out in the Valvira's service, there may be a short interruption in Kanta services.
Interruption may affect the following:
- the issuing of prescriptions in the patient data system if the person issuing the prescription is subject to restrictions with regard to their professional practice rights
- Kelain service
- Valvira’s role and attribute service.
In the event of a service interruption, please try to access the service again later.
20 March: Short interruption in the use of Kanta Services possible
Time: 20 March 2025 between 6am and 8am
The Kanta Services is carrying out technical maintenance work, due to which there may be a short interruption in the use of service:
- New version of the MyKanta online service

22 March: Potential interruptions in the Kanta Services
Time: 22 March 2025 between 6am and 6pm
Maintenance work is carried out in the Kanta Services, which may result in brief interruptions in the following services:
- Kanta Extranet
- Kanta.fi
During the interruptions, the traffic of Kanta.fi and Kanta Extranet will be redirected to a temporary page.
During the breaks, MyKanta can be accessed via the following direct link: https://kansalainen.kanta.fi/?lg=fi
In addition, the interruption will have no impact on the use of Kelain. Kelain can be accessed via the following direct link: https://www.kelain.fi/

22 March: Interruption in the transmission of medical certificates and statements to Kela
Time: 22 March 2025 between 6am and 8pm
Due to scheduled system deployment at Kela, there will be an interruption in the transmission of electronic medical certificates and statements to Kela between 6am and 8pm.
During the interruption, medical certificates and statements cannot be transmitted from healthcare providers to Kela. Doctors should instead follow the standard instructions and print out any medical certificate they issue on paper, sign it manually, and hand it over to the patient.
A professional will only be able to forward a Medical certificate A and Certificate for reimbursement for travel expenses to Kela using newer versions (default version) after 22 March 2025.
