According to the Client Data Act, social welfare and health care service providers must join the Kanta Services if they use an electronic client or patient information system to process client data.
The Act on Electronic Prescriptions makes the deployment of the Prescription service mandatory for pharmacies, social welfare and health care service providers who write prescriptions, and for those who prescribe medicines independently.
Instructions for deploying the Kanta Services
Pharmacists and social and health care service providers who write prescriptions will deploy the Prescription service.
Health care service providers will deploy the Patient Data Repository. There are no transitional periods for health care, so preparations for joining the service must begin without delay.
Social service providers must deploy the Client Data Repository for Social Welfare Services within the transitional periods specified in the Client Data Act.
Joining as a user of Kanta
The service provider joining the Kanta Services selects a suitable administrative connection model for their situation.
The information security plan must be updated when joining Kanta
The information security plan is part of self-monitoring, and it must account for the use of the Kanta Services. When a service provider joins Kanta, it must update its existing information security plan or create a new plan.
Verification of certificates and professional ID cards before joining Kanta
The deployment of Kanta requires that the social service and health care provider has the necessary certificates and professional ID cards. These enable the reliable identification of persons working in the sector, as well as the electronic signing of documents and electronic prescriptions.
